The Ultimate Skin Care Routine for Oily Skin

Living with an oily skin is a bit of a challenge; a shiny T-zone after every few minutes, black spots and a higher risk of skin infection. Unfortunately, a good number of people rely on skin care routines that cause more harm than good, for example using harsh cleansers. Skin care routine for an oily skin is a bit more intensive than caring for other types of skin. What you do in the morning will affects the state of your skin the whole day. Morning routine

An ideal morning skin care routine for oily skin should seek to mattify the skin rather than strip off the oil. Stripping only sends a signal to the skin to produce more oil. What should you include in your morning routine?

  • Use a facial clay cleanser – This will deep clean your face and remove the excess oil buildup of the night. A clay type cleanser mattifies the skin complexion.
  • Exfoliate – Use a face scrub to exfoliate. An oily skin needs 3-4 times exfoliation skins per week. This ensures that skin pores remain open and prevents blocking and inflammation.
  • Use a face mask- Take about 15 minutes to apply a face mask. This pulls out dirt, dead cells, and oils. Do this 3-4 times a week.
  • Apply moisturizer- Oily skin needs moisturizer as well. Look for a brand with Aloe Vera water and hyaluronic acid.

Your evening skincare routine for oily skin should aim at keeping the pores clear and rebalancing oil production.

  • Steam on every 3rd night to keep pores clear. This is simply keeping your face above steaming water for at least 15 minutes.
